Questions & answers.
The most important answers about technology, installation and operation of RainAnton.
Do I need power at the hydrant?
No. The battery is enough – no power connection or solar panel is needed at the water valve.
Which pipes and connections does the valve fit?
The valve fits DN65, DN80 and DN100 as well as Perrot, Bauer and flange connections. For special sizes, just get in touch – we'll find a suitable solution together.
How long does the battery last, and how is it charged?
In our field tests, RainAnton runs autonomously for 6–7 months without recharging or a power connection. The exact runtime depends on factors such as the number of switching operations and reception conditions. Feel free to ask us about your use case.
Is the device weatherproof?
Yes. RainAnton is designed for dust, moisture and rough field conditions and has been proven in continuous field operation.
What happens in case of frost, theft or if someone moves the device?
Thanks to GNSS positioning, you can see where your device is at any time. If it is moved or removed, you notice and can react.
How do I control the valve?
Via app or web – manually with one click or automatically on a schedule.
How up to date is the displayed status?
The last reported status is shown. Depending on the setting, data is transmitted every 1–10 minutes. Valve operations are usually sent to the valve in under 2 seconds, with more frequent measurements taken during the process.
Does my irrigation plan keep running if the network is down?
That depends on reception conditions at the location. Get in touch – we'll explain exactly how the device behaves in your case.
Can I close the valve remotely in an emergency?
Yes. That's exactly what RainAnton is made for. You can close the water valve manually via app or web at any time, as long as the device has reception.
Can several people (employees, contractors) access one device?
Yes. Multiple users and permission levels can be created.
Does it work on my field without good mobile reception?
Often yes: RainAnton uses LTE-M and NB-IoT, which reach much further than regular LTE, and works with all networks at once. On request, we check reception on your fields in advance using online databases.
Do I need my own SIM card?
No. Mobile connectivity is included in the RainAnton software subscription.
What does the device cost, and what do I pay the subscription for?
There are two parts: purchasing the device and the subscription for platform and SIM connectivity. We explain both transparently in your individual offer.
What happens if I cancel the subscription?
Feel free to ask us before signing – we'll explain transparently what happens to the device and your data after cancellation.
Do you also sell to private individuals?
